Children's Liturgy of the Word

What is Children's Liturgy of the Word?

During Children’s Liturgy Of the Word children are dismissed from the main

assembly to hear the readings in a manner more appropriate to their understanding. talk about it’s meaning for their lives, and enter into prayer with the other children gathered.

The program is for children 5 years old through 10 years old. There is no registration for the sessions. The children are called forward and dismissed before the readings from scripture. They return to the church during the time of the collection. The children must be at least 5 years of age and able to give their attention to the Minister and Lector. Parents may go with their child/ren the first few times to make sure that they are able to participate or to help them over any fear that they (or the parents) may have.

Children's Liturgy of the Word occurs in the Archangels Room (lower level of the Church) during the 9:00 am Mass.
